Who we are
Guru Sewa Samiti is a registered educational society. This policy explains what information we collect on this website and how we use it.
Information we collect
- When you register as a member: name, father's/guardian's name, date of birth, mobile number, email, address, photo and the documents you upload.
- When you donate: name, mobile number, email, address, PAN (optional, needed for tax receipts), amount, transaction / UTR number and the payment screenshot you upload.
- When you send us a message: your name, contact details and message.
- Basic technical data such as browser type and pages visited, collected through analytics tools (for example Google Analytics) and advertising tools (for example Google Ads or Meta Pixel) if these are enabled. These tools may use cookies.
How we use it
- To verify and approve memberships and issue ID cards and certificates.
- To confirm donations and issue receipts and thank-you certificates.
- To contact you about your membership, donation or query.
- To understand how visitors use the website and to measure our outreach campaigns.
- To keep records required by law (for example for 80G / income-tax purposes).
What we show publicly
Verified members' name, member ID, photo, city and designation may appear on the Members and Verification pages. Donor names are shown only in shortened form (for example “Anita V.”) on campaign pages. We never publish mobile numbers, addresses, PAN or payment details.
Sharing
We do not sell or rent your information. We share it only when required by law, with government authorities for tax compliance, or with service providers (such as our web host or payment provider) who help us run this website.
Security
We use HTTPS, password-protected admin access and restricted file storage. No method of online storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable care to protect your data.
Your choices
You can ask us to correct or delete your information (except records we must keep by law) by contacting us. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
